Needlepoint Slippers - Finished!

I'm very pleased with myself as I've finished these little slippers that I started to make almost two years ago!

They are stitched on silk gauze from a kit by Bobbie Schoonmaker of Micro-Stitchery

  They actually don't take very long to make but as those who know me understand that I do flit about a bit from one thing to another.
Needless to say Oly made hers in a jiffy and then made a second pair!  At least that's one more project finished and I can start something else now! Maybe I'll try and finishe the beautiful flower kits I bought from Pascale.

Basket of Flowers

Like a broken record I'm frequently heard saying I don't like making flowers. I ordered some kits from Pascale as I'd admired them on blogs and thought I'd be able to make some.
I started on one kit and then a year passed......
Oly encouraged me to take the kits from the back of the cupboard and yesterday  we made half each of two more kits. We were thrilled with the results and we now have a few Margarita's and peonies each. I have to thank Oly for her help and Pascale for her beautiful and detailed flower kits. Here are mine in a basket.

Now I hope to finish the poppies I started last year.

Anne's House

Reading Genevieve's blog one day I admired some little paper houses she'd made from kits by Anne Hoskins.I just had to buy some but I only kept one for myself as I haven't much space to display them. I gave two to Oly and we had a great 'dollshouse club' day making them. They are so well designed and they make up perfectly. We decorated the garden area with Flower Soft and they look fabulous!

Making Kits

The temperature here has been 39 degrees again today; it's been hot so long I can't remember what it's like to have energy! In the house it was only 29 so after I made up some guest beds for visitors arriving on Friday I set about putting together some of the kits that had been accumulating in my 'to do' drawer. I often buy these from Zena's  or Craft Pack Co. They are quick to do and always so pretty.
Tomorrow is 'dollshouse club' (still just the two of us) so I'm off to bed 'early', it's midnight, but last night I was still awake at 6.20am what with the heat, the crickets, and the sounds from the fiesta in the next town. The Spanish really know how to party! Music and fireworks until morning! I love it, Viva España!
