It was Dollshouse Club day and we couldn't have wished for a better day! Not only was the weather perfect and we were able to sit outside all day, but Oly arrived with a great pattern to cut out a shop stand which she wanted to make for her cheese and meat display.
It was such a lovely design by Jane Newman that I decided to make one as well as I could use it for my small collection of Spanish food which has never had a proper home.
The background I made by photocopying tiles from a book and printing onto photo paper. I scored the gaps in between the tiles.
The Name 'Tapas Tradicionales' is alphabet pasta which I coloured with felt pen and glued on.
On the left, he square board of bread, cheese and meats is by Amanda Speakman
The round board with meats, bread and a bottle of oil is by Linda Cummings
The meats are hanging on hooks which I made from paper clips.
I bought the meats, the plate of stuffed peppers, the basket of bread, the melon halves and all the other things at the Fuengirola Fair last year.
SPEAKING OF WHICH!!!! The Fuengirols fair is THIS WEEKEND!!!! Sat 8th and Sun 9th of June.
Oly and I will be there as always, maybe we'll see you there!

Online Fair Purchases Arrived!
Another blog so soon because I would like you to see what arrived in the post today as I've been waiting impatiently for my purchases from the online fair. here
Easter is my favourite season - the sugar colours, the spring weather, lambs, rabbits and chicks. I've been working on an Easter scene for a long time and when I saw this lamb and cart by Tower House Dolls I just had to have it!
These pretty tea pots also arrived. They were made by Lory They will look perfect in my Tea Shop.
Obviously I shall be playing today!

Fuengirola Fair Purchases
Wow! I see it is July already and realise that I have passed my first Blog Birthday! Thank you to everyone who regularly reads my ramblings. Here's to another good year of minis!
I have been slow to write as I had another little holiday, this time to Portugal to celebrate my husband's birthday and the fact he has now retired!
Some of the days I worked on a little quilt which I'll show you soon but this time, as promised I'll show you what I bought at the Andalucian fair in Fuengirola.
ALL THIS!! When my husband asks how much I spent I only tell him half but still he is shocked!
Bye for now,

What is a Friend?
Friends enjoy each other's company, they help, encourage and share laughs. They are generous, grateful, dependable and appreciative. Oly and I were all of these today!
We went to the 2nd Andalucia Miniatures Fair in Fuengirola where we encouraged each other to buy the things we knew we really shouldn't but wanted anyway, helped make important decisions like whether we needed just another doll or not, depended on our friend to look after our bags when we went to the 'ladies', laughed like naughty children when we knew we'd spent too much money but didn't care, I drove and Oly generously bought lunch. We appreciate the advise on matters like whether we want something in pink, blue or both but most of all we are grateful to have a like minded, kind friend to spend a happy day doing what we both love so much - miniatures.
Here is a photo of Oly and me at the fair.
Ha ha! I couldn't resist these little girls from Eli of www.ooakminis.blogspot.com they have leather shoes, sweet dresses and so much character! They don't look like friends though, do they?
I'll post more photos later, I hope you're all enjoying your weekend as much as me!

AndalucĂa 2011
It's been a busy and exciting time here!
It isn't every day I'm given a dollshouse! My dear friend, Oly who has relocated her miniatures into fabulous cabinets delivered her unwanted house to me before Christmas but I was so busy with real life that only last week I managed to start making major plans in my mini life.
My tea rooms and gift shop finally have premises of their own, but now I have discovered that I'm seriously short of tables and preparation surfaces but as luck will have it there will be a fair here in June again. If anyone is interested, it's the 2nd Edition AndalucĂa 2011. This year it's to be held in Fuengirola, Malaga, another half hour on the journey for us but still well within reach!
Back to the subject of the new property! It is still looking very sparse and I need to dive down all my storage boxes and find everything I've been collecting and making. Here are some photos so far.
Oly and I are looking forward to another brilliant day out in June - we're aware that we need to do some serious planning before we go this year, then hopefully we won't have a repeat of the manic spending frenzy that took over us last year! Ha ha!

Successful Fair
For my friend and I the Dollshouse and Miniatures fair at Nerja was a massive hit. Like two eager beavers we had arrived an hour and a half early, ensuring ourselves a parking place close to the venue.
I always promise myself that once inside I'll look at all the stands first, then go back to those I really liked and buy something. It never works and true to form I had spent 55€ at the first stand.
By lunch time both my friend and I had spent all our money and I'd walked up to the high street and maxed my visa card for the afternoon spend.
Having to stop for the customary siesta break here in Spain it enabled us to eat, rest and drop our loaded bags back to the car, starting the afternoon refreshed and eager to spend again. And spend we did.
It was busier in the afternoon and very hot but we managed to stay until it was time to drive to the airport to pick up my husband and with no more than ten euros between us. I'm too embarrassed to admit how much we spent but the stall holders did very well from my dear friend and I!

My Blog - At Last!
I've been promising myself a blog for a while now but those of you like me, with too many hobbies will understand why things take so long to get around to.
Miniatures are my love - my life and always resurface eventually, despite every effort to force myself to do something I should be doing instead!
My concentration wavers when all I can think about is coming up with a method of making something new in miniature.
This year has been very different for me as I now have beautiful twin grandsons. Two perfect miniatures - and how I love them.
Although I've knitted, crocheted and am still making patchwork for them I can't help dropping the project in hand to take up my miniature needles and knit something tiny.
Having moved to Spain almost four years ago I've missed going regularly to fairs but the really exciting news is that an hotel in Nerja is holding a fair tomorrow and Sunday! It's hardly an hour drive away and I'm going tomorrow, - if it's good, I might have to go back on Sunday! I'll report back after I've been.
