I Have Been Burgled!

There are some very nasty, dispicable people in the world and at least one of them broke into my house and stole from me while I was visiting my family.
Our friends noticed the break-in, contacted us and we came home early to sort out the mess. I was with my daughter and new grandson when I heard. Every time I got upset she put Henry in my arms for a cuddle and it made me realise what is most important in my world.
Meet dear Henry.
Yes, I am angry about the theft but I'm fortunate to have a lovely family and beautiful grandchildren and when I'm alone I occupy myself with making miniatures, I'm very grateful for all this.
I hope you all have a good week,

  1. SGRUUUUUUUUNT!!!!!
These things are awful, and threaten to pull out the worst of us, which would be the worst damage, so you're right to look at true love, that nobody can take away. This wonderful smile marks the proper distance between what is superfluous and what is essential in our lives.
    I embrace you with affection,
    Flora

  3. I'm so sorry to hear this Gill! It's unbelievable what some people are capable of. After you work so hard to get what you may have someone who doesn't want to work for it comes along and takes what isn't theirs. And not only that but it's what they take away from us inside that is the worst. Our sense of safety, comfort and peace in our own homes. I've been where you are and it's not a nice place!

  15. Gill! oh! Gill, as I am disappointed and angry at what has happened! is a horrible feeling to know that a stranger came into your house, and violated your privacy, and stole things that you have acquired through work and honesty! it's disgusting how much evil there is in the world.
I hope that the things they took from you, are not of overriding importance.
what matters is the precious gift of family, and the sweet smile of Henry can compensate for any deficiency.
I embrace you very strongly, dear friend, courage! I hope that the thief is soon caught by the police and make ill-gotten gains!
    a kiss

  19. That is terrible news but as you said the most important thing in life is our families and closest ones. I love the last picture where he has crossed his fingers and he smiles like an angel. Baby-Henry is so cute.

I hope you get to clean the mess soon and get your life back to normal. Maybe you should think of getting a burglery alarmsystem?
