Miniatures Overflow

Hi, thank you for stopping here again.
My houses and shops are full but still I make and collect more. I desperately needed somewhere to put all the homeless miniatures. At the beginning of the year I bought four tall, narrow cupboards and have since been searching out all the hundreds of treasures that have been waiting to be displayed. I was shocked at how much I found, tucked away in boxes all over the house and in the garage, for example, there were 17 beds!
My houses have kitchens but I have all this as well! I can't resist plates and cookware.
My nursery collection is somewhat random but I need shelving and furniture.
The wicker furniture I bought 11 years ago in Sant Maartens for 3 dollars.
I made these 1/24th scale things from paper printies found on-line.
The beginnings of a Men's Shop.
My Spanish collection and a bike that I yarn-bombed!
Flea market corner
Easter collection.
Sorting all this should keep me occupied for quite a while. At least everything is now out - except for all the beds!
I hope you're all enjoying your week,
Gill x

New Year Spring Clean

I hate to admit this but I started cleaning my Victorian house for the first time in 6 years! I dust the outside fairly regularly but decided today to empty out each room and have a thorough clean and polish. My goodness, what a difference!
The floor and cupboard tops are shiny!
On the chair next to the warming pan you can see the squirrel cushion Oly stitched for me.
The lady of the house has a birthday! Oly made me the box of chocolates. The perfume bottle and box are by Marlies.
The embroidered slippers are on a rug made from paper and under the bed there is a hidden shotgun, in case of intruders!
This was my first house and I suppose that is why it's my favourite.

I went to the Dorking Fair!

Unable to attend the fair in Malaga this year due to being in England with my poorly daughter I was happy to discover that I was in the right place at the right time for the Dorking, Makers Only Fair.
I am so excited about adding these new items to my various houses and room settings.
First are these gorgeous flowers and plants by Jan, The Flower Lady, who I think only sells at fairs, I can't find a web address for her.

The lemon tree will go with all my Spanish miniatures.

Already the sweet tea cups are in my tea shop.

I have a few items for the garden shop. I shall plant the chimney pots with Oly during one of our club making days.
AS usual I couldn't resist the children. I bought this beautifully dressed baby from Pat Alston at Tiny Treasures.
Also from Pat is this gorgous doll. I've been collecting odd chairs with a mind set on doing a version of the Mad Hatters Tea Party so meet my little Alice!
I did buy another chair for the tea party and also these other finely made wooden items from World of My Own
I just had to have these beautifully made frames and mirrors from Wood Supplies.
I'm so behind with my own making that I bought some food items for the freezer from Shepherd Miniatures as the miniature family were starving!
I hope you enjoyed seeing all these, now I have to place them all, it's going to be fun!

A Beautiful New Bed

Having decided to put together another house I have been looking for furniture to fill it. It's a rather back to front way to go about things as the house is still 'flat packed' but it's typical of me and I enjoy the shopping!
This fabulous bed I bought from Eileen who makes them and sells on Etsy at My Life in Miniature.
It needs bedding and I started by making this crochet cover in soft cotton thread.
This is going to be short and sweet as it's late and I made a resolation this year to go to bed earlier. So far I've done well and been in bed before 1am most nights!
Sleep well!
